Why Do I Feel So Sticky?

Fleekers!

How are my friends today?  How was your weekend?  Can you believe it's Monday already?  Boo!  Oh well.  I suppose life goes on doesn't it?  And so does planning!

How is your planning going?  I would love to see pictures of your planners!  You can post them on my Facebook page.

So, how many of you like sticky notes?  I am trying to envision most of you if not all of you raising your hands.  Perhaps jumping up and down.  May be even doing a little happy dance?  Yup.  That's about how I get when I hear the words, "Sticky Notes."

I am sure I don't need to explain what sticky notes are so let's just jump right into it shall we?

There are millions and millions of different kinds of Sticky Notes out there.  Here are just a few from my collection that I keep in my Travel Accessory Bag.

These next ones are smaller post it notes that I ordered from Amazon.  But of course I then saw them at Staples after I ordered them. I use these for when I am crunched on my time in the evening and need to get things done.  We will see an example of this later in the post.

These are full adhesive Sticky Notes.  There are a few more colors available as well (not all of the colors are pictured below).  I don't use these much unless I know it's something that I am not going to be moving around a whole lot in my planner if at all.

These are regular Sticky Notes.  There are different shapes, sizes and colors. You can get these anywhere such as Walmart, Target or any office supply store.  They are only sticky on half of the back or rather a 1/4 of the back.

These are white ones that I ordered off of Amazon.  They are 3x2" Sticky Notes.  Enjoyette from YouTube used these so I thought I would give them a go.  They stick surprisingly well.

These are a variety of Sticky Pads that I got mostly from Walmart.

Of course don't forget the Dollar Spot at Target.  My mom got me all of these I think.  I have started to utilize these a lot in my planner.  Most of these don't stick the best so I use a tape runner.

Now, let's get into the meat of it shall we?  How do I use all of this sticky goodness?
Well, here is how!

Below are Sticky Notes from my Filofax that I used last year.  I used the iPhone one from Walmart for weekly to do lists.  Things that I needed to get done through out the week but not on a specific day.  The yellow ones were for grocery lists or errands that I needed to run.

Here are some more from my Filofax.  I started color coding my Sticky Notes.  Green meant something I needed to buy, someone I needed to pay back or errands I needed to run. Blue was for any last minute packing items that I needed to throw in my bag, shopping for the vaca (such as snacks or any toiletries that I needed to replenish), or just random notes or last minute to dos before I left on my trip. Pink was for things that I needed to buy for my house such as cleaning supplies.  I also wrote down specific projects I needed to do for my home as well.

Here are just some more examples of my post it notes.  I started color coding on my phone pad of weekly tasks.  Just for something different.   Then when I got the white Sticky Notes, I started writing my goals on there.  Also some people that I needed to contact or places I needed to go.  On my green Sticky Notes I wrote down a more specific list of what I needed to pick up.

Again, just some more examples.  The purple one is for some random church notes that I wanted to remember.

Here is where I was using those smaller post it notes.  When I feel like I am under pressure and have so much to do in so little time (aka anxiety) I start panicking.  So, what really helped me was to pull out these small Post Its and write down a schedule of sorts.  Now, I did not have to exactly follow this by the book.  It was just a time frame so I could be at peace of what I needed to get done and that I had scheduled the right amount of time for everything that I needed to do.  Therefore I had less stress and anxiety.  I hope that made sense.....

Here is just a close up of how I divided the white ones (these were 2x2 not the 3x2 as mentioned above) into a quadrant.

Here is a closer look at how I used the smaller Post It Notes as a time table guideline.

Here is a closer look at my color coded weekly iPhone Post It.  I loved these and used them every week.  What I used them for kind of changed and evolved through out the year.  Sometimes I used them for lists and sometimes I used them for menus.  Regardless of what I used them for I did indeed use them as I mentioned every single week.

Now here is a look at how I use the Post It Notes in my Bullet Journal.

Here I took some lists of what I needed to buy.  Again on the green Post It Note.

Here I wasn't color coordinating the Post It Notes I was more just picking out the color with my weekly theme like most Fleekers do when they decorate their planners.

In this example I used some of the bigger ones (I got these at a local grocery store) as menu planners and grocery lists.  This technique didn't work too long.

Here is just a little note that I threw on my IOU page.  Just of who I owed money to that week and such.  Again no color coding just used what Sticky Note I had posted in the back of my Bullet Journal.

Again here using the Sticky Note on the back of my insert.  I used this for some errands that I needed to run and a quick grocery list of a few items.

My mom was generous enough to let me take some pictures of how she uses Sticky Notes in her Bullet Journal.  Her personal favorite is when she writes quotes on them.

So, in conclusion (wow, I sound so professional.  I feel like I need to push up my glasses) Sticky Notes can be used for just about anything.
and that my friends leads us into.....drum roll please....
YOUR HOMEWORK!!!!

I would like you to pull out those sticky notes!  Use at least one of your pads for a list or jot down some ideas or write your weekly menu.  Just use at least one this week.  Let me know how it goes!  If you already use Sticky Notes in your planners, your homework assignment is to post pictures either in the Bullet Journal group you are in or on my Facebook page.  I would love to see how you utilize them.

May your week be full of happy Fleeking!!!

End of Month Review

Hello Fleekers!

How is your weekend going?  I hope you are able to do something fun!

I know March is not yet completely over but I thought I would do an end of month review anyway and show you some ideas that I have incorporated in my bullet journal this month.  Just to kind of show you what has been working and what hadn't and prove the fact that you can indeed make changes to what suits your needs.

Ready?  Here we go!

So I stopped using my brain dump.  It just got to be too much.  I may go back to it.  I am kind of wishing I wouldn't have pre-decorated my weeks because I am liking the idea of just putting everything on one day moving on to the next day and forwarding the tasks. I just felt like writing things down here then again in my weekly spread was too much repetitive writing:

My mom writes future tasks on sticky notes then when that day comes she'll add it to her list.  I really like that idea.

I wanted to utilize all of the to do list pads I had some how but I didn't know how to do that.  I came across a blog Tiny Ray of Sunshine where she had inserted a to do list pad.  I loved that idea.  So I tried it.  I tried mine in different places.  Kim has hers on the side which I did use that in my monthly view as you will see later.

Then I wanted to also utilize some of the Dollar Spot sticky notes my mom got me.  So I started using them.  I used one for a last minute packing list.

I really like the idea if a weekly review.  I used Kim's insert idea for my weekly review.  However.  That was bulking up my book.  I also noticed a had a blank page before my next week. Perfect!

So here is my weekly review.

Here again I used the insert idea from Kim.  I again used a post it note for a small shopping list.  This is the third week in March.  So the idea is working really well for me.  Plus I use the back for forwarded tasks, notes and other things.

Here is the month view with the insert.  I use the insert for my monthly tasks.  I had the original bullet journal monthly lay out but I am really digging the original grid format.

I really want to utilize the back of the insert.  I am thinking of using it for forwarded tasks or a shopping list.  I dunno.  I will keep you posted.

Homework time!
I would love to see pictures of changes you have made or just comment below or on my Facebook Page.

Here's to a new month!  Huzzah!

Happy Fleeking!

I Lost That Pen, Can I Use another One?

Hello hello Fleekers!

It's Friday!  Booyah!  Happy dance!

Eh hem.  In all seriousness now (bahahaha) let us discuss the topic of pens shall we?
Now pens are an amazing little gadget that..
Oh what the heck.  Let's be real here.  Lol

So I have a couple more sets of pens to review for you.

The first set I got at Staples.  It is a brand called Poppin'.  Here is a link to their page.

These are a gel pen.  I honestly can't remember how much I paid for them.  The web cite has more details on that.

As you can see in the pack I got there are five colors.
Green, blue, orange, red, and black.

These is the pen tip.  It comes to a roller ball point.  The gel comes out pretty easily.  I am pretty picky when it comes to gel pens.  I like them to write smoothly and not stop working in the middle of your writing.  These ones seem to be pretty good.  In all honesty I haven't used them a whole lot in my planners.  So I may just have to start using them more and see how they do in the long run.  I like how you could put them through a pen loop, very important.

Here is the back of the notebook page.  There is shadowing going on.  Not really bleeding per se.  I am not sure how they would do with thicker paper.

These pens I have had for a while now and loved using them on my Filofax pages.
These are the Frixion erasable pens.  These are the colors that come although there is a purple one I just couldn't find it.

Here is the tip.  Again comes to a point with a small ball.

So they are erasable.

However.  I found in my Filofax that there was some ink still left on the pages.  It was like the base of the ink was still there.  It didn't bother me a whole bunch.  However the first time I erased I was fairly dissapointed that it didn't erase all the way.

Here are a few examples of where I used the Friction pens.  I really loved them.  They wrote really smoothly.  The color pay off was nice.  Overall I really like them.

So there you have it.  Hope you enjoyed.  I don't really have a homework assignment for you so enjoy the weekend.  ðŸ˜†

Happy fleeking!!

Can I Borrow A Pen?

Hello hello Fleekers!
How are you?  It's Wednesday!  Almost the weekend!

How did your color coding go?  Any new great ideas?  I would love to see them!

Well now who likes pens?  Oh wait.  The question I should be asking is who doesn't like pens?  I love love love pens. Always have and always will.  Especially sets.  I have a thing about sets.

So here are some reviews of three sets of pens.  The first two sets I absolutely LOVE!!!  The third is one that my brother swears by and my mom is getting into them.  I thought I would give them more of a chance.  I have had them for a while.

OK.  I am getting ahead of myself...

So let's start with my favorite Gel pens ever.

These are gel pens I got at a local grocery store but I am sure you could find them at your local Staples or Office Max.  Don't quote me on that though.

They are Pentel Sunburst Gel pens.  They are a medium ball point pen.  The ink is a gel mettalic.

As you can see the colors that came in the package are purple, red, blue, pink, and green.

I use these pens all the time to add an extra flare to my pages.  They came in real handy with my April and May pages.

Just be careful not to touch the ink right after you write.  It does smear easily.

There is a bit of a shadow on regular notebook paper.  It doesn't bleed through though.

Here is an example of how I used the pens in my bullet journal.

This is the back side of the page.  There is not a lot of shadow on this paper.  My bullet journal paper is thicker than regular notebook paper.

These are my RSVP pens by Pentel.   You can get these at any office supply stores.
I love these pens as well.

As you can see these are the colors available in the pack I got.

Again it is a medium fine point.  It it not a ball.  Just a regular point.

Again with some shadowing on the thinner regular notebook paper.

Here is where I use these in my bullet journal.  I use them to underline and color code my appointment times.  (See previous post for more detailed description of color coding.)

Now.  These apparently are the holy grail of all pens.  My brother LOVES these pens.  These are the G2 pens.
They are a gel type.

Here are the colors available in the pack I got.

As you can see the light blue does bleed through.  The others do a tiny bit.
I do press kinda hard so that might be part of it.

Here is the tip.

Now.  One thing I don't particularly care for about these pens is they aren't really friendly for the pen loops.  I have tried the elastics and the regular ones and these pens don't do great with either one.  So I have been just putting the clip part (on the side of the pen) through the pen loop.

So there you have it.  Are those all my pens? Ha!  Heck no.  Lol.  We will review some more pens in my next post.  So stay tuned for that.

You thought I forgot about your homework assignment didn't you? Haha.  Jokes on you!  Just kidding.
So. This week I have two options for you ready?

Option 1:
Get that set of pens you have been eying for a while.  Now make sure you can afford them.  I don't want to have people hating on me because they went over their accessory budget.  So just make sure it is something you are OK getting.  Once you get them start using them.  Decorate, use them on your color coding, make your grids with them.  Just try some different things.  As always I would love to see pictures!!

Option 2:
Do you have a set that you haven't used in a while or that you haven't opened yet?  Well bust those babies out!  Time to experiment!!  Time to play!
So get them out and use them to decorate your journal/planner, write on your sticky notes with them, color code etc.

So there you have it!  Again I would love to see your creations in your planners!  You can post them on my FB page: Life of a Fleek.  That way others can see them too!!

Disclamer:
This is not a sponsored post.  All items mentioned above were purchased by me.  All opinions are genuinely my own.

As always Happy Fleeking!!!!!!
