Where Do We Go From Here?

Hello Fleekers!

How was your weekend?  Good I hope!

How was your few days in your journals with your symbols? I hope you were able to find some good ones that worked for you.

If you are new to this blog WELCOME!!  I hope you find this blog helpful and even perhaps a bit entertaining.  I like to have fun and be a bit corny.  If you are new to the bullet journaling idea you might want to take a peek at a few links here:

My Intro Post to Starting A Bullet Journal

Today we are going to talk about where to put all of these lists and calenders and such.  In other words how many pages should you leave for each.

Well, this all depends on what you want to put in your journal.  Let's say you start out your month with a monthly view:

Now.  When I started my bullet journal in January the month was the very first page from when you opened up the bullet journal.

The next question you need to ask yourself is do I want to do a weekly lay out right after the month?

Do I want to do a day per page lay out?

So, once you have established the type of calender that you want, then comes the next step.  So, let's say you chose to have a monthly lay out and then a daily lay out.  I would count out may be 10 pages (including front and back, that counts as one page).  Leave those blank. Keep in mind that you won't use a full page every day (refer to above picture).
But what if I have extra pages by the end of the month that I haven't used?  Well, this is where your lists come into play.  You can put a list of movies you want to see that month, or a list of books to read or a monthly task list or doodle a picture or put in some magazine scraps of things that make you happy.  The options are endless.  You could even leave them blank if you wanted to.  An idea that just came to mind is that you could put some pictures or what happened that week and make it into a scrapbook of sorts!  There are so many ideas that you could do.  Even use those extra pages for notes or jotting down ideas.

So, now that we got the end of the month what next?  Well, you can start a new month page.  I personally have all four months and pre made in my bullet journal.  I just got the decorating bug so I wanted to do all of my months.  Here is an example of some of my future weeks (btw this helps with future planning...which we will talk about later).

Since I do my calendars a week at a time, I need one page for the weekly lay out (as pictured directly above) and two pages for each of the days of the week.  I do pre decorate each week.  However, when I first started I would put in pencil what I was going to designate for that page.  That way I could count ahead the pages I needed.  Does that make sense?  I can clarify further if needed.  Just let me know.

Now, what about all of those pages in between?

Well, let me give you an example of mine:

As you can see I have a lot of space in between my January month view and my February month view. So what have I done with all of those pages?  And look!  February through March has even more pages in between!

I am a single woman, living on my own and not going to school.  I am working (I won't give any more information out other than these things just fyi if you ask....please forgive the rudeness just trying to keep my personal life as private as possible).

So what may be in between my months may be different than yours.  Here are just some examples of what I keep then we can throw some ideas of what you could put in yours in different lifestyle situations.

This is an exercise/water chart that I am trying out.  Not sure how it's working very well.  I just had a blank page so I thought I would try it out.

These are a few quotes that I really liked from my scripture reading.  You can put a collection of quotes in between months if you would like.  You can even decorate them.

This is one of the first budget pages I tried.  I decided I didn't like it (obvious with the big Xs across the page.  This might bug some people but I kind of like to see where I started and how my planner has changed.

This is another budget lay out that I tried.

I saw a review page on Pinterest that I wanted to give a go at.  I didn't really like this lay out, but again, it was a blank page.  I saw the idea and wanted to try it.  So, I did.  Live and learn.
As you can see there are things that I wanted to try out in my planner.  I have so many pages of different layouts that I am trying out.  It might seem overwhelming to some people but not to me.   As I am a beginner in the bullet journal world myself I see so many ideas that I want to try.  But sadly I have already made out several weeks in advance.  So, I just grab a blank page and start doodling a lay out.

But wait!  I am not in your situation.  I am a full time student or a full time mom or a full time mom and a full time student.  How is this relevant to me?  Well, think about the things you do during the day.  Do you go to meetings?  Are there some notes you need to take?  You could put that in.

Are you a mom who wants to keep track of her baby's weight or milestones in life?  That could be a page in between your months.

Do you want to keep track of your homework assignments for that month or school projects?  That could be another page.

There are so many things that you could do to fill up those pages.  You could even do some journal entries.  You could put a collection of quotes as I mentioned above.  Remember we talked about lists in earlier posts?  Well, you could put a list of movies you want to see.

Heck, you could even just doodle on some of your pages.

I know sometimes it is easy to get overwhelmed at what to put in your bullet journal.  Just remember to make it yours.  Just remember that you put in it what ever works for you.  Just because you may see other bullet journals that look "prettier" than yours or more functional or "perfect" doesn't mean that yours isn't great too.  Also, even if you do have some blank pages in there that's ok too!  May be something will come along later.  May be you need to jot down a quick note or something.  Just keep as mentioned above the most important thing in mind.  THERE IS NO WRONG WAY TO BULLET JOURNAL.  You can do what ever you would like to your journal.  Gain inspiration?  Of course.  That is what the bullet journal communities online are all about.  Is helping each other out.  At least that is what I have found so far in my journey.

So, are you ready for your homework?   What?  No?!  Of course you are!  You can do it!!
This time around your assignment is to pick a blank page that you have been staring at for a while.  Pick something to fill it up with.  Even if it's a drawing by your kids (or in my case my niece):

Just fill up one or two pages that you have been stuck on deciding what to fill it with.  Then post pictures on my Facebook pages on what you came up with!!

Good luck!  Please keep me posted on what your journals fill up with!  I would love to see!
