Let's Start At the Very Beginning

Hello my mighty Fleekers!!

How are you?  It's the middle of the week. The weekend is almost here!

So.  I have had a few questions (yay for questions!  I love questions!) in regards of how to get started bullet journaling.  Well.  First of let me tell you there is no right or wrong way.  The key to remember in this bullet journaling is you have to do what works for you.  Just because it may work for someone else doesn't mean it has to work for you.  That is the biggest thing that converted me to using the bullet journal is you can do what ever the hey you want.  There is no rhyme or reason and there is no shame in that.

So.  First question.
What is a bullet journal?

A bullet journal is a notebook of any kind with lists.  It can be lists for work.  It can be lists for school.  It can be notes from your office meeting.  It can be a full blown calendar.  It can be a place for your creativity.  It can be anything you want it to be.   here is a link to the original video and the man who thought this brilliant idea up.

2. Where do I start?

Well.  The first thing you need to decide is what do you want to use?  Do you want to use a plain old spiral bound notebook?  Do you want graph paper?  Do you want a Madori Travelers Notebook? Video link to my favorite example here.  Do you want a hard bound journal?

I chose a hard bound journal because I wanted it to be like one of my journals that I have kept for years.  I have stopped writing in a journal every day and so I wanted something that I could keep and look back on for the days I didn't journal.

I got mine at a local grocery store (please forgive me for not mentioning the name for privacy purposes).  The brand name is Plan Ahead.

Now my mom is using a composition graph paper notebook she got from Walmart.  My friend is using a different hard cover journal I believe from Walmart.

3. What do I put in it?

Oh my goodness.  The options are endless.  Endless I tell you!!  There are so many many many things you can do.

There are calenders

There are grocery lists.

And my personal favorite art work from my two year old niece.

There is so much more that you can do with this!  Just pick a few you want to start out with.

My friend just started out with a few pages in hers to see how it will go.  That's awesome.  If she doesn't like it she can try something else.

My mom started bullet journaling about a month ago loves it.  That is OK too.

Just remember you have to do what wo rks for you.  Try using a spiral bound cheep notebook if you are unsure.  That way you can tear out a page if I doesn't work for you and not feel bad for running a good notebook..

Also check out YouTube.  They have a lot of great videos out there by inspired people.  Two of my favorite are here:
