April 2016 Bullet Journal Set Up

Well hello hello!

How are things going for you?  Well I hope!

I am going to show you a flip through of how I have April set up in my Bullet Journal.

I do have a YouTube video showcasing this month if you would like to check it out!

Let's get right into it shall we?

This month was the start of a new fresh notebook.  That wonderful feeling of a new notebook is something one can not describe.  Lol.

So.  Let's get into some pictures I hope you like pictures because there are a lot.

This first page is the first few days of April.  It wasn't a full week so I didn't want to do a full spread.  So I just decorated it a little then I just did the normal Bullet Journal method.

This next page is just some things that I want to adapt into my life.  Sorry there is so much blurred.  It is pretty personal.

Here we get into my weekly spreads.  Pretty self explainitory I think...

This page is after all of my weekly spreads.  It is a weekly review and highlights page.  I write down things that have happened (both good and bad).  This is my actual journaling these days as my life isn't really that exciting.

This is my weekly overview.  I keep my appointments here on the left side.  For some reason my brain just works this way.
I also keep sub lists like things I need to grab at say Walmart or Costco.  I also keep a brain dump of sorts on the left page.

I am trying different methods of meal planning.  Nothing seems to stick.  This is just one of the ideas..

I want to adapt the David Allen GTD system.
I want to have a general inbox then go from there.  We'll see how it goes.

This is the last page of the month,  I have a monthly review.  I am going review what is working and what isn't.  May be have some outlines of spread ideas and such.

So there you have it.  I hope you enjoyed my flip through.  :)

I would love to see your lay outs.  Visit my Facebook page or leave me some comments down below!

Steadler VS Stabilo

Hello Fleekers

So I have decided to give in and got myself some Stabilo 88 pens.  I had already had in my collection the Staedler fineliner pens.  Frankly, other than the design of the baral I really can't find my of a difference between the two pens.

Here is a small review of the two pens.  In no particular order because let's be honest.  I was too lazy to rearrange the pictures.  Lol.

Here is a sample of the writing.  I also threw in a sample of my pilot G-2 ball point pen of which I found it interesting that it wasn't too far off from the other two.

Notice how similer the first two are....

Here is a close up of the two tips.  I honestly don't see much of a difference in the actual felt tip.  The barral yes.  Please keep in mind I have had the Staedtler for a while so it is becoming flattened and shortened by use.

Here is a very close up of the Staedtler on top and Stabilo on bottom.  I really see no difference in the quality or look of the ink.

Here is a side shot of the tips
Again keeping in mind I have had the top one for a few months.

A shot of the full pens side by side.

A close up of the tips side by side.  Again.  Keep in mind the left has been worn down by use.

So all in all if you are looking to get a fineliner pen I think you would do well with either one.  They are both a good pen.  Both comfortable to hold.  I might even prefer to hold the Staedtler a little more.   Would I get both?  Probably not.  I only got the Stabilo just to see what the craze was about.  If you want to save yourself some money you would do just fine with one or the other.  Unless you are a pen collector like me and HAVE to have both.

Thanks so much for reading!  Hope you are doing well!!  Happy Fleeking!!

Where Do I Start?

So I have been seeing a lot of new peeps on the Facebook Group.  I have also seen that there are a lot of basic blog posts on where to start on Bullet Journal.

Supplies:

Very simple:

A notebook (any kind will do).
A writing tool.

Where to start?

Well.  First you have to decide what you want to keep in your bullet journal.  Do you want to make it a calender?  Do you want to have collections?  Do you want to have both?  Think about your needs.

I have been bullet journaling for few years now.  I in no way claim to be an expert.  These are just my opinions and what I have learned and I hope to help others who are struggling to begin this fun adventurous journey.

Most recently and I mean in the past month I have been feeling the need to get back to the basics of bullet journaling.  The creator of this method Ryder Carroll has great resources on the basics..

He started a basic way of rapid loging of tasks and appointments and notes.  The wonderful creative people in the planner world took it from there to create masterpiece lay outs and collections.  I am floored by all of the great ideas and creativity that can be found on the social media groups.

However.  I have grown a bit frustrated and flabbergasted by my personal bullet journal.  Which is why I have decided to go back to the basics.

I wrote on sticky notes what I felt like I need to keep track of and what I wanted to include as far as calenders and collections.

Here is what I came up with:

Monthly calender
Includes monthly goals and tasks and appointments

Monthly tracker
It is just fun for me to see how I am doing on certain things over the month.

Finances
I want to keep track of my income and what I spend.

    Weekly view

   Dailies.

There are a few collections of which I want in my journal as well.

Movies to watch
Goals

As far as lay outs it can be as simple as a list.  Check out Ryder's video (linked above) for a quick video of a quick list.Click here.

Or you can make it as fancy as you would like.

While there are great and wonderful artistic people out there there is nothing wrong with just a simple list.  In fact I give great credit to this gal here on FB who has a very simple lay out in her bullet journal link here.

So as you can see it does not have to be this elaborate thing.  It can be so simple.  Most of us who decorate and such just find it relaxing and even try to make most of the functional.  (I guess I really shouldn't speak for everyone....this is speaking for myself.)

So if you have been afraid to start because you feel intimidated by those beautiful journals just remember this journal is for you and to help make your life easier.  Make it match you.  Make it functional for you.  Decorating can come later.  Just start out with may be a month view, some dailies and may be a few collections.

Let me know how it goes!!  I would love to see what you come up with!!!

Happy Fleeking!!
