DIYFish Inserts

Hey Fleekers!

Waz up?  How is your week going?

So.  I have been reading a lot of reviews and watched a lot of YouTube videos about the DIYFish inserts.  They intrigued me so much I bought and downloaded a three month trial.  Don't worry I am still using my monthly Growing Up Goddess insert as well as the lined paper.

I just felt bad because I wasn't using the week one to it's full potential.  Plus I was trying the brain dump and as much as I want it to work for some reason it is just too much for my simple little brain.

Here is the month fold out.  I am trying the color coding with this just for quick reference.  Which is why I still use the Growing Up Goddess month lay out.  That one is written while this is just colored boxes.  I was concerned about how my head would wrap around starting my week on Mondays because I am a traditional Sunday gal.  But so far it's not too bad.

Like the majority of the people who use this page as a menu planner I decided to join in.  I think it is going to work well.

Here is the month laid out.  In the middle is a divided note/task box area.  On the left side I think I am just going to take notes as well as a running journal entry of my parent's new house progress.  Just for record purposes.
Not sure what to do for the task part.

Here is one of my favorite features I think.  I love how I can fold out the money and have my week right there.  I use it for appointments and journaling.  Then the best part is a separate section for tasks.  I just love this lay out.

Here is a look at Growing up Goddess monthly insert. I LOVE it.

There is still so much space that I haven't used yet in the DIYFish inserts.  I am actually a little overwhelmed at the amount of space there is to keep lists and write stuff down.  But I do really like the idea of keeping everything together and getting rid of the brain dump.  I love love love the idea of the brain dump and as much as I want it to work for me it just doesn't.

So that's it for today!
Have a good rest of the weak.

Disclaimer: this is not a sobered list.  All materials were purchased by me.  All opinions are genially my own.

Just A Little Something

Hey Fleekers!

I am a huge slacker.  I have no excuses.  I honestly didn't know what to blog about.

I am enjoying my Fauxdori so far.  I am not head over heals about it but I am enjoying it.  It's a new adventure.

I printed out some new pages from MsWenduhh.  Just giving those a go.

I don't think I am using the brain dump to it's full potential.  I have a weekly booklet and I have been writing the top priority items in there:

However I am finding it cumbersome to write things multiple times.

So I think what I am gonna do is use my brain dump just for my to do list as it is intended to be.
I think I am going to use my weekly booklet for journaling for sure and I am not sure what else.  May be appointments.  I like the monthly spread for that though..

So I dunno.  I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do.  And for some reason I have felt the yearning to use my Filofax.  I get a little overwhelmed at using multiple planners.  But may be I can work something out.

So that's a small update on my honest feelings.  Sorry it's not much.  Lol.  If you have any questions or requests let me know!

Fauxdori Brain Dump

Hey hey Fleeker Friends!

How's it going?

So.  Today I thought I would take you a little deeper into my Fauxdori and how I plan.

So.  I have a booklet at the very back that I use for my brain dump.  Almost every night I come her to unload.  I put the date, then any appointments then any tasks that I think I need to do the next day.  It doesn't matter if I know I don't have time for them.  I just write it down.  I have linked several times in previous posts about a video on YouTube that I learned how to do this and I love that video.  But here is the link. It's a great video.  I love it.

After I get down all of what is in my brain at the moment, I put an astric by the items that I know I can get done that day.

From there I put them in my weekly view.  This might seem redundant and perhaps it is, buti like having a weekly view.  Plus I like journaling in my weekly view.

So that is how I use my brain dumping and weekly booklet.  I also have a monthly booklet which we will look at later.

How do you use your brain dumping?  I would love to read and see ideas!

Family Fleeker Workshop

Hello Fleekers!

So I have received a few questions about my family workshop that I presented at a few weeks ago.

I had been taking to my aunt about my previous bullet journal and she was very interested in it.  She asked me if I would be willing to present at our annual family workshop.  I said sure!

So.  She made a little invite and we got together before hand to discuss planners and the materials that I use.  She also showed me her planners and how she plans.

When the day came I set up my planners and brought some of my supplies as this photo shows:

I just showed one of my washi tape containers, my sticker binder and several planners that I have used in the past.

I sort of had an idea of what I wanted to talk about.  I had a lay out written out:

My family is very friendly.  Lol.  They love to be together.  So it's hard to stand up and talk/lecture them.

My aunt had given them ask a composition notebook.

So I basically just showed them the video if the original bullet journal.  Then I had them fill out April as the video described.  They had a lot of questions about if they had more events on the same day and what to do.  Others had questions on washi tape.

I think if I were to present again I would do it differently.  Mostly be prepared more.  I would have blown up examples of my pages so they could see better.  I now know the type of questions that will be asked so I would be better prepared with answers and examples.

My aunt had a bunch of prizes (enough for everyone) such as washi tape, stickers pens and journals.

One if my cousins uses her phone for her planner so we talked about that.  My sister had one of those spiral weekly ones from Kinkos.  The important thing I think when talking about planners and giving ideas is to remember that everyone does things differently.  That's what I liked about it is seeing how my family made their plans and got things done.

I did have my mom talk a little bit to show the differences in our bullet journals.

I had a blast being with my family.  Plus talk about planners.  Who in the planner community doesn't love that?

So there you have it.  My first ever Fleeker workshop.

A Chunky Monkey!

Howdy Fleekers!

It's Saturday and I am glad for the warmer weather!

And I am glad for my final set up in my Fauxdori!  It's so chunky and I love it!  You want to take a look?  Um OK.  Since you said please.

So here is the top.  I went to Michaels and found some elastic to hook my books together!  The hair elastics I was using were fine they were just a bit too big so I couldn't it as many in.

The first booklet from Growing Up Goddess on Etsy is my monthly.  I have gone a little decorating happy I won't lie.  That's my favorite part of a fresh new lay out!  Mwahahahaha....aaaaa

Eh hem.  Now.  The next booklet is my weekly.  Again from Growing Up Goddess.

I am putting my appointments and the most important tasks from my brain dump on the left side.  Then some journaling on the right.  I love the space where the days are.  I put a weather stamp from Tiny Stamps Big Plans on Etsy.

Next I made a folder of sorts. I originally got the inspiration from this video on YouTube.  I got the card slips and photo slips from Office Depot.

The next booklet (from you guessed it Growing Up Goddess) is my food journal.

The next one came with my cover from EternalLeatherGoods on Etsy.  This one houses my lists and collections and thoughts.

The final booklet is my brain dump.  I have been loving this!  I thought I would be overwhelmed but I love it.

And there you have it! A total of five books!  Plus my own folder insert.  I do have a bit of hang over on the edge but that surprisingly doesn't bother me.

Thanks for taking a look in my Fauxdori!  I have rearranged it so much already I am sure more changes will come.  Lol.  But for now this is how I like it!

They Finally Came!!

Hello Fleekers!

It's Friday!  And I have to work again tomorrow.  Lol.  No celebration dance.

But here's something to keep us all entertained!  New inserts from Growing Up Goddess.

Disclaimer:  This is not a sponsored post.  I pushed the inserts.  I just wanted to give an honest up front review for others info.

The thing I loved about her shop is that you had so many choices of colors and layouts.  I am a traditional Sunday start on my calendars.  When you order you have the choice on both the month and week layout of starting on Sunday or Monday.

So here we go with a closer look.

The first thing I noticed was the package was wrapped.  I was very impressed with that as there was a bit of a hole in the envelope.  I was kind of worried about the inserts but alas!  They were perfectly fine!!

I could tell already that she had taken great care of making it presentable and cute!

The next thing I noticed was the labels on the items to make sure the order was right!  I was very impressed by this.  It was also easy for me to tell which insert was which with out opening them!

Here is a look at the layouts.  I love them.

Here are three of the inserts stuffed into my Fauxdori.  I love it so much!  I wish I had more room!!

I know I posted these on Instagram but here is a look at the calendar inserts all filled out!

I would definitely buy from her again. They did take a couple weeks to get here.  That wasn't too thrilling.  But I'm glad they finally did!!

I would love to see your inserts and where you got them.

Happy Fleeking!

How's It Going?

Hey hey Fleeker Friends!

Hope your weekend is going good.
You wondering how's it going in my Fauxdori (come on admit it!  I know you are!) aren't you?  Well!  Here we go!

So, I am waiting (still) for my inserts.  In the mean time I really needed a calendar to work with.  So I printed one out from My Life All In One Place.   Just as a reference for now.

Here are my pages for my brain dump.  I wrote everything that I thought of.  And I mean EVERYTHING.  It is working out pretty good so far.

I needed a way to track some stuff so I just started a page just to see.  I also wanted a spot to put things that I kept on putting off.  We'll see how that goes.  Any ideas on what you do with tasks you keep forwarding?  I got tired of writing them day after day so I thought may be if I put them in a separate list I will feel more focused to get them done.  I dunno.  Any thoughts?

I added some sticky notes on my second insert.  I am using the bigger ones for my menu and shopping list.  We will see how this goes.

Anyway.  That's it folks!  I would love to see pictures and read ideas on your Fauxdori and Bullet Journals!

Have a good rest of the week!!

Happy Fleeking!

Introducing....

Good Morning Fleekers!

How was your weekend?  Mine was pretty busy as I had a family workshop which I will do a post about later.  I was able to tell my family about my new found love of the Bullet Journal and just planning in general.  I promise I will do a post about this soon!  So stay tuned!

In the mean time, hows about we get into my Fauxdori which I have been raving about getting?!  It finally came on April 10.  Just a few days ago.  So far I really have been enjoying it.  I am looking at getting some more inserts from Growing Up Goddess on Etsy.  Hopefully they will be here this week!

In the mean time I thought I would dive into my current original set up.  So here goes!

Here is a front view of this beauty.  I had this pirate medallion charm from Disneyland on a key chain and I thought it would look perfect on here!  I love it!  I put a piece of tissue on the back so that it wouldn't scratch up the leather as bad.  (One of my best friends suggested that!  She is genius!  She actually suggested to glue material on the back but for the time being I just taped some tissue.

Here are different angles of the journal.  Just for fun because it just needs to be done right?  Lol.
Top

Bottom

Here is the is the front of the inside cover.  Nothing special.  As of right now I have two notebooks.  I plan on putting at least three more in.  At least we will see how three more fit.
The index cards are part of a cleaning system that my mom introduced my family and I at the last year's workshop.  I have not done it for at least six months.  I thought, "may be I could put them in the front of my Fauxdori to remind me to do them!"  I had seen a lot of people use the binder clips in there's and I wanted to utilize mine.  I tried using them in my Filofax but they just bulked it up.  They seem to work fine in this journal.  I didn't want to put it on the actual leather cover as that would create dents.  (Can you tell I am being a bit over protective of my baby?)

Next is a dashboard folder of sorts that I made.  I got the original idea from here on YouTube.
I knew I wanted to do this homemade dashboard before I made it.  But I thought about the pockets.  I went to Office Depot to exchange some ink and walked around.  I found photo covers and self adhesive id pockets!  Bingo!  That's how I made my dashboard folder!  I am not sure about the photo pockets however.  I like them for my Mark-It Dots but not for the stickers in the front.  I might have to figure something else out.  I may go back to using an envelope like I did for my previous Bullet Journal.

My second book is my list or as most people call it "Collection" booklet.  The first list is movies I would like to see.  (Yes I know there are some you might be, "She hasn't seen that?!"  LOL.  It's on my list so that counts for something right?  HAHA

The next list is of course my craft wish list.  I really need to stick to a budget on this one.  I can for sure get carried away!  Anyone else?  Nah.  Not you!  LOL

Next is my camping/vaca list.  I just like to have a master copy.  I do make a seperate one to check off as I go.  But again, I just like to have a master one.  Plus this one is just fun to decorate.  :)

And here is the back covor of the Fauxdori.

So far I am really liking this format.  I think I want to try making my own in the future just to save some money.  So far I am pretty pleased with it though.  I bought it from Eternal Leather Goods on Etsy.  It did take a while to get here.  I ordered on March 28 and it arrived on April 10.  The shipping was super fast.  The leather is pretty stiff but from the reviews I have read and seen on YouTube it seems to get more and more flexible as the time goes on.  I really like the color and the choice of elastics.  I do wish there were more elastics as I have seen some covers have four.  Over all I am pretty pleased with the product and I look forward to using it and loving it a lot more!!

Thanks for reading!  Keep checking back for more updates on my new journey of Fauxdoris and other planner adventures!

Happy Fleeking!!
