How is your week going? Good I hope. I apologize for the late post. I have had the flu the past couple days. No fun!
How was filling in your pages in between your months going? Any fun new ideas?
Well. Today we are going to talk about how to decorate your planners. I see a lot of planners out there that are amazingly decorated. I also see some that are simply decorated but still awesome. The key is to do what works for you!!!
What are some things that I use to decorate my planner?
Well. First and for most there is a wonderful thing called Washi Tape.
Washi tape is originally from Japan. Here is a link to Wikipedia about what Washi means. I found it very interesting: washi.
So. Washi tape is decorative tape basically. It comes in many different styles, colors and textures. Some I have found are better than others.
Here is an overview of my small collection:
So what can you do with washi tape? Oh my goodness the possibilities are endless!! But beware. Once you buy your first roll you'll never go back. Trust me.
These are by the brand Tape Works. I got these specific ones at Joanne's I believe. I like the wideness of the tape. However the pink one on the left has some sticky residue after you peel it off. I haven't found that so much with the other ones.
These ones are from the brand Scotch. They aren't my favorite as they have the same material as duct cape. At least the one on the left. I haven't tried the right one yet. I believe I got the one on the left from Staples. I can't remember where I got the other one. Either at Target or Walmart.
This is one I picked up from JoAnne's. This is a dye cut type of washi tape. The butterflies are cut out as opposed to printed on the tape. I thought it was a fun idea.
These are a few that I got from a Shop on etsy. These have beautiful prints on them.
The shop is: BellasBeadHabit
These are some I got that I really like how the feel and how easy they are to work with. I got the v day ones at a local grocery store and the black ones I believe from Michaels.
Here are just a few ideas on how to use washi tape in your planner/journals:

Ready for your homework? I would like you to get that one roll of washi tape you have been trying to decide on what to do with. Go ahead and place it in your journal. Even if it is just a strip to separate your daily pages:

There is nothing wrong with that! Just make it yours! Remember: there is no wrong way!!
Disclaimer:
I am in no way trying to brag or "show off" my washi tape collection. I am merely making suggestions on how one can use this product. Also I am not being paid to review these items. All the items used were purchased by me or person featured in the photo.
Thank you for reading!
As always! Happy fleeking!!!
I don't decorate any more, even though I have managed to accumulate a good amount of washi and stickers!
ReplyDeleteAfter 2 months of hating the decorating I did, I have gone very simplistic. I think I am ready to use washi and stickers again... this time sparingly LOL
Definitely make it yours :D
Even if it is a simple strip. It doesn't need to be anything fancy! I would love to see pictures on my Facebook page! Life of a fleek!
DeleteSuch a great subject. Sometimes a bit of color catches my eye and all of a sudden it's worth reading around it. So I put more embellishment if I have more writing. Well, there you go.
